	1.미래 shall   (주로 주어가 I, We) →현대 영어에서는 will과  통합 사용, 구어로 여겨짐	~할 것이다 ~일 것이다		shall not	should	should not
	2. 강한 의무 should	~해야 한다	must = have to = ought to	should not (= shouldn't) = must not = ought not to	should have p.p = ought to have p.p ~했어야했는데 (안해서)유감이다	shouldn't have p.p = ought not to have p.p ~하지 말았어야했는데 (해서)유감이다
	3. 예상, 추측 should	(아마)~일 것이다	ought to	should not (= shouldn't) = ought not to	should have p.p  = ought to have p.p (아마)~일 것이다	shouldn't have p.p ought not to have p.p (아마)~가 아닐 것이다
	4. 주장, 명령, 요구,     제안 should	S + V = 주장 ( insist, persist )           + ( that ) + S' + should 동사원형 '~.           = 명령 ( order, command )                           = 동사원형 '~           = 요구 (request ,demand )           = 제안 ( propose, suggest, recommend )    : S는 S'가  당연히 V'해야한다고 주장/명령/요구/제안한다.

1.미래의 shall

평서문)

ex) I shall do this work.

  =  I will do this work.

     나는 이 일을 할 것이다.

 

부정문)

     I shall not do this work.

  =  I will not do this work.

     나는 이 일을 하지 않을 것이다.

 

과거형)

     I said that I should do this work. 

  = I said that I would do this work.

     나는 이 일을 할 것이라고 말했다.

 

부정형)

     I said that I should not do this work. 

  = I said that I would not do this work.

     나는 이 일을 하지 않겠다고 말했다.

 

 

 

2. 강한 의무 should

 

평서문)

ex) She should do this work. 

  =  She have to do this work.

  =  She must do this work.

  =  She ought to do this work.

     그녀는 이 일을 해야한다.

 

부정문)

     She should not do this work. 

  =  She must not do this work.

  =  She ought not to do this work.

 

     그녀는 이 일을 해서는 안된다.

 

cf) She don't have to do this work.

 =  She need not do this work.

 =  She don't need to do this work.

    그녀는 이 일을 할 필요가 없다.

 

과거형)

     She should have done this work.

  = She ought to have done this work.

     그녀는 이 일을 했어야 했는데 (안해서) 유감이다.

 

  = I am sorry that she didn't do this work.

 

부정형)

     She shouldn't have done this work.

  = She ought not to have done this work.

     그녀는 이 일을 하지 말았어야 했는데 (해서) 유감이다.

 

  = I am sorry that she did this work.

 

 

3.예상, 추측 should

 

평서문)

ex) She should get there soon.

   = She ought to get there soon.

     아마 그녀는 곧 도착할 것이다.

 

부정문)

     She shouldn't get there soon.

  = She ought not to get there soon.

     아마 그녀는 곧 도착하지는 않을 것이다.

   

과거형) 

    I thought that she should have got(tn) there soon.

 =  I thought that she ought to have got(tn) there soon.

     나는 아마도 그녀가 곧 그곳에 도착하리라고 생각했다.

 

부정형)       

    I thought that she shouldn't have got(tn) there soon.

  = I thought that she ought not to have got(tn) there soon.

     나는 아마도 그녀가 곧 그곳에 도착하지는 않을것이라고 생각했다.

 

 

4. 주장, 명령, 요구, 제안 should

 

예문)

 

ex) She insisted that she should go first.

  =  She insisted that she go first. (수의 일치, 시제일치 없음)

    그녀는 (당연히)그녀가 먼저 가야한다고 주장했다.

 

ex) She ordered that her children should wait for her.

  =  She ordered that her children wait for her. (수의 일치, 시제일치 없음)

     그녀는 그녀의 아이들에게 그녀를 기다리라고 명령했다.

 

ex) She demanded that they should stop fighting. 

  =  She demanded that they stop fighting. (수의 일치, 시제일치 없음)

     그녀는 그들이 싸움을 멈출것을 요구했다.

 

ex) The doctor recommended that she should rest for a few days.

  =  The doctor recommended that she rest for a few days. (수의 일치, 시제일치 없음)

    의사는 그녀에게 몇 일 휴식을 취할것을 권유했다.

    

 

 

 

5. 주관적 판단, 주관적 감정 should 

 

예문)

 

ex) It is a good thing that she should join us.

  =  It is a good thing that she join us. (수의 일치, 시제일치 없음)

     (내 생각에는) 그녀가 우리와 함께한다는 것은 참 잘된 일이다.

 

ex) It is very surprising that she should be late.

     그녀가 늦다니 정말 놀랍다.
